September 2021 lanceerde de Australische mode-illustrator Megan Hess haar nieuwste boek. Via haar Instagram account volg ik het werk van Megan, en ohh.. wat heeft zij mooie boeken uitgebracht. Boeken met prachtige illustraties om verliefd op te worden. Het is dan ook niet gek dat enkele van haar boeken op mijn wishlist te vinden waren. En afgelopen december maand besloot ik om deze boeken niet tot het nieuwe jaar op mijn wishlist te laten staan. Als vervroegde kerstcadeau aan mezelf, bestelde ik een drietal boeken van Megan Hess. En vandaag laat ik haar allernieuwste boek Christian Dior The Illustrated World of a Fashion Master zien. Kijk je gezellig mee?

Zoals ik hierboven al laat weten ben ik verliefd geworden op de prachtige illustraties van Megan. En laat het ook zo zijn dat ik meer over Christian Dior te weten wil komen. Een mooi combinatie, niet waar? Christian Dior The Illustrated World of a Fashion Master is zowel van binnen als buiten prachtig vormgegeven. Het heeft een mooie grijze kaft met gouden letters en afwerking. De zijkanten van het boek zijn met goud bewerkt.

Christian Dior The Illustrated World of a Fashion Master neemt jou als lezer mee vanaf de vroege jaren van Dior. Je krijgt informatie over zijn jeugd en het ontstaan / de geschiedenis van het modehuis. Ik moet bekennen dat ik het boek nog niet volledig uitgelezen heb. Maar uiteraard heb ik inmiddels vele malen door het boek gebladderd terwijl ik het werk van Megan bewonder. Ik kan hier een lappen tekst neerzetten maar ik denk dat jij, net als ikzelf, gewoon liever afbeeldingen wilt zien. Dus hier komt een overload aan foto’s….
